Does child like LEGO? Then this is an ideal workshop for you over the Xmas holidays!

In the workshop, children are encouraged to use different educational tools, to design and create their whole Lego world based on different themes. This not only brings their creativity into full play; this is also an opportunity for them to experience how mechanics work.

In case of Typhoon 8….

All classes (including playgroup, RWI, writing etc. ) will be cancelled.

If the Typhoon No. 8 is lowered BEFORE 12pm, then all lessons will resume as normal from 2pm. It is entirely at the parents’ discretion whether to attend classes in the afternoon.

If the Typhoon No. 8 is lowered AFTER 12pm, then all lessons will be cancelled for today. KiddiKraft will remain closed.

Parenting probably teaches us to be more responsible than ever before as we have to teach our children and protect them from potential dangers. As they grow up, they have to learn how to handle the problems and challenges that life offers. We will not always be there and cannot rescue them when they are in trouble. But how do we teach ‘responsibility’? Here are a few ideas…

First of all, set an example to them. Show them what you are responsible for. Bring them to work to show them how you support the family, discuss with them what you do at work and show them how you enjoy your responsibility and what you get out of it.

Next, have realistic expectations of your child’s responsibilities. Give them tasks that they can manage for their age. Personal cleanliness, punctuality and managing money could be one of the first. When they go to primary school, teach them to view homework as an important responsibility that they should take care of and not you. Tell them the purpose of their task and also impose penalities that you have to stick too.

Lastly, give them clear instructions. When there is a problem at school, discuss the issue and do not take on the burden yourself. Do not shield them from the task – instead strengthen them by asking what they would do, how would they handle the issue and get them to take some responsibility. By taking this approach,  you will see enormous benefits in the long term.

Responsibility isn’t just for adults. Children, at an early age, must be taught this value. This is what parenting is all about – taking responsibility and teaching your children to do the same.
